OverviewFox’s Pizza Den is a chain of restaurants serving pizza, hoagies, salads, Stromboli, sides and much more. Regular and gourmet pizzas are offered with options such as buffalo chicken, bacon double cheeseburger, taco, veggie and Hawaiian. Fox’s dough is hand-tossed and their Italian Pecorino Romano cheese comes from central Italy.Customers can order online, call in orders, dine-in or enjoy delivery at any Fox’s Pizza Den.Why Choose Us?Fox’s Pizza Den may appeal greatly to potential franchise owners who dislike the idea of a corporation taking a percentage of their restaurant’s gross sales each month. Instead, Fox’s charges a flat $400 monthly royalty rate. As the Fox’s website explains, “At Fox’s the more business you do, the more money you make.”One of the great benefits of owning a Fox’s franchise is low startup costs. While this is true with a mere $15,000 initial franchise fee, and a combined training fee and site consulting fee of $11,000. The low end of the total investment range starts at $111,550, and the upper end is $210,050, according to the franchise disclosure document. Fox’s also comes with the benefits of owning a franchise that incorporates brand recognition, training manuals, co-op marketing and system buying power that leads to a successful store.Training and SupportTraining is the fundamental foundation of success at Fox’s Pizza Den and we take our training seriously. We provide observation and hands-on training that consists of product prep, inventory control, purchasing and other areas plus ongoing support. Our experienced trainers will work with you during your Grand Opening and through the first week of operations.  A training fee of $8,000 and site consulting fee of $3,000 is required from the franchisee. Your trainer is always available by phone or email for additional consultation. There is no doubt that pizza restaurants are a deeply established market. Independent operators, especially those new to the restaurant business, may find it difficult to succeed. Partnering with a Fox’s franchise can prove a tremendous head start.Ideal CandidateAn ideal candidate for a Fox’s Pizza Den franchise will be an enthusiastic, passionate, hard-working, team player. A passion and enthusiasm for our brand will be very evident to your customers and will be contagious as well.  A franchisee with a passion for success and for the product and services we sell, will go above and beyond to make their business successful.HistoryJim Fox, president and CEO of Fox’s Pizza Den, opened the first restaurant in March 1971 in Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. He did so with equipment he’d salvaged from a scrap yard in Pittsburgh along with a rented storeroom and just $500. Not surprisingly, Pennsylvania is the state in which Fox’s Pizza Den has the largest presence, with 112 restaurants. West Virginia, the state with the next-highest number of restaurants, has 17 locations, and the franchise boasts locations in varied states such as Utah, Georgia, Texas and New York.On that first day in March 1971, Fox sold out of his pizzas in six hours, marking Fox’s as a restaurant to watch. A second location opened in 1973 in Harrison City, and Fox’s introduced home delivery with the opening of the fourth restaurant. Home delivery was a novelty in the Pittsburgh area at the time, and as word spread, Fox got many requests about franchising. The first franchised store opened in 1974.In February of 2020, Jim Fox, Sr. passed his franchise legacy on to his son, Jim Fox, Jr. who continues helping franchisees run successful stores. Because of low royalties and startup costs, Fox’s entrepreneurs continue to succeed in small towns while boosting the towns economy.
